MOMS Club History

The MOMS Club was started in the fall of 1983 by the founder, Mary B. James, who started the first chapter in Simi Valley, CA. Word spread about the wonderful support that the MOMS Club offered at home mothers and we became a national organization in 1985. As of 2005,  we have more than 1,950 chapters in the United States with over 95,000 members worldwide, and several International MOMS Club Chapters have started.

MOMS Club of Victor Valley has been a Chapter since July 1, 2007 with the Founding President, Toni. Orignially we started as MOMS Club of Victor Valley, but split into 2 chapters when the membership grew to large.  We have since remurge together to form one chapter for the high desert.  Our members are many areas: Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley, Adelanto and Phelan.

We have  an average of 25-35 members but do hope to grow more.  Some of our members and kids have been around each other for sometime and welcome any new membersto join.  The support given to one another is like no other, Moms know what each one is going through and can lend a helping hand.

Member Testimonials

" I joined right after my son turned one.  It was definitely the support I needed.  I have met many great moms as well as children for my son to play with.   I have learned so much by having the support one needs when they are a stay at home mom."
-Toni  (Founding Pres. of Victor Valley
                          East) Member Since August 2006

"I joined MOMS Club to make some new friends and that's exactly what I've done.  It's help me maintain my sanity and not feel so isolated. With my husband working during the day and being a stay at home mom I needed someone else to talk to other than my two year old son. I enjoy the activities we do, both for moms and children, and the contributions we make. With the MOMS Club I feel involved and not so alone because I know there are other moms out their who can relate to me. "

"MOMs Club saved my sanity.  I had gotten married and moved away from friends and family.  A little over a year later, I was having a baby.  I had always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom but never realized how you can feel isolated.  I would smother my husband when he got home just needing to talk to an adult.  A friend told me about MOMs Club and I joined.  Since then I have made some true friends, no longer feel alone, and got some much needed helpful advice from experienced mothers.  Thanks MOMs Club."

"Being a part of MOMS Club I have met so many new people and have made a lot of new friends.  I believe that it is real important for stay at home moms to feel support and know they are not alone.  My kids look forward to seeing their MOMS Club friends and attending the activities.  We have a lot of fun together and I encourage you to give a try."    -Linda Member since 2008
